Dr. Ayman El Attar graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine of Alexandria University in Egypt in 1987. He then completed residency training in general surgery and family medicine, and earned a Master of Surgery from the same university in 1992. He completed his Ph.D. in surgery/aesthetic medicine in 1998. During his early career, he held teaching roles as an assistant lecturer in surgery at Alexandria University and as a visiting instructor in surgery at the Medical College of Ohio.
Dr. El Attar is a practitioner of aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery with over twenty-five years of experience, specializing in procedures such as laser-assisted and power-assisted liposuction, blepharoplasty, laser medicine procedures, and cosmetic gynecology procedures.
Dr. El Attar is the founder of Derma Laser Centers of New Jersey (launched October 2002) and holds leadership positions including President of the American Aesthetic Association and Program Director of the American Board of Cosmetic Gynecology.
His scientific contributions include describing the TOPAL (office tumescent power assisted laser liposuction) procedure in 2009.
He is the author of numerous publications in renowned medical and surgical journals and a trainer and lecturer, conducting lectures and workshops both in the United States and in over thirty countries.
